Introduction and Purpose of this blog

Hi everyone!

Well, I have finally decided to enter the blogging universe. There are many reasons for me to do so. First of all, since I am now out of college, I need to keep up on my writing skills since many have told me it is a key gift of mine that must continually be developed. Second, I feel that the topics which I am going to write on are very important for this generation to consider, both for Christians and for non-Christians. Thirdly, it is generally admitted that I express myself best on paper, since it is already difficult enough for most to understand me when they're speaking face-to-face with me :).

It is certainly possible that many will be reading this who know nothing about me. I've just graduated from a little school named Baptist Bible College in the Scranton, PA area. I certainly believe that God is calling me to ministry of some kind, but for now I am mainly just trying to become more independent, pay off my student loans, and wait on the Lord to give me clear direction about what happens next. My parents live in NY but I have moved over here to PA since most of my friends and my church, Grace Baptist Church, are here. I have a job editing online websites via the Internet from my computer, so I can set my own hours and work anytime I want! It's still being set up, and in the meantime God continues to make sure that my needs are being provided for.

This blog is not primarily about my daily life. I will refer to events every now and then, but it won't be a normal way to check up on how I am doing. But you'll definitely know what issues are running through my mind, 'cause I'll write about them! :). My prayer is that I will be understandable and that I will represent what I'm talking about in a clear and concise way which will provoke you to think seriously and intelligently about the issues which I present. What issues are they? Some topics I plan to address include: theological issues, Bible verses/passages, history, worship, devotion, reading, traveling, geography, and many others. By discussing what God's Word says on these topics, I pray that I can make it clear to others how to best respond to each subject.

Ultimately, of course, as the title of this blog suggests, I hope to proclaim the beauty of our Sovereign God by demonstrating that every circumstance and situation passes under His lordship and can be safely addressed, even though the answers may not always be as clear as we would like. The goal that God set out to accomplish in this world is to glorify Himself - and that, accordingly, is my task and my aim for this blog: to glorify God.
